Mrs. Virginia Spence was born and raised in Rockwood, Tennessee and has been a resident of Franklin County for several years. She has been married to her college sweetheart, Eric (who is the Music Teacher at Long Mill Elementary!) for over 20 years. They have 2 elementary-aged boys and a chocolate Lab dog named Willow. Mrs. Spence earned her Bachelor Degree in Music Ministry in 2001. She helped her hubby in various churches across the southeastern US, including Henderson, NC, for 18 years before finding her calling to education. As she worked in education, first as a substitute teacher and then as an instructional assistant, she saw the need for EC teachers and started taking classes while she began teaching. Mrs. Spence earned her Master Degree in Education from Regent University in 2022. She has worked in Newport News, VA and Wake County, but brings her passion and enthusiasm for learning to Franklin County and LES. When she is not with her students, Mrs. Spence enjoys reading, playing with her boys, going to the beach, hiking in the mountains, and drinking large mugs of coffee.
