First Grade

Ms. Burt is a first grade teacher. She has been teaching for four years. Ms. Burt loves watching students grow and learn new things. When Ms. Burt is not in the classroom she is a student at ECU and a mother to two girls.

Melissa Jones is an awesome 1st grade teacher at Louisburg Elementary School. She moved to NC from Louisiana where she was a paraprofessional in a severe autism classroom for 2 years and a EC Pre-K Paraprofessional for one year. Since moving to North Carolina she has been teaching 1st grade for 9 years now (and counting hopefully). She did four years in Nash county before making her home in Franklin County at Louisburg Elementary where she has done great things and hopes to do more :)

Ms. Green grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Edinboro State University in 1994 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She taught Head Start and preschool before becoming a daycare director for seven years. In 2006, she moved to North Carolina and began teaching at LES. She is the mom of two adult children and one cat, and is looking forward to a wonderful year!
