Melissa Jones is an awesome 1st grade teacher at Louisburg Elementary School. She moved to NC from Louisiana where she was a paraprofessional in a severe autism classroom for 2 years and a EC Pre-K Paraprofessional for one year. Since moving to North Carolina she has been teaching 1st grade for 10 years now (and counting hopefully). She did four years in Nash county before making her home in Franklin County at Louisburg Elementary where she has done great things (including Teacher of the Year 2023) and hopes to do more :)

Ms. Green grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Edinboro State University in 1994 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She taught Head Start and preschool before becoming a daycare director for seven years. In 2006, she moved to North Carolina and began teaching at LES. She is the mom of two adult children and one cat, and is looking forward to a wonderful year!

This is Kara Crudup’s first year as a teacher and as a 1st grade educator. She holds a B.S. in Animal Science with a minor in Biodiversity Conservation, and an M.S. in Agriculture and Extension Education. With six years of academic research experience, she draws on her strong foundation in social science and qualitative methods to thoughtfully integrate inclusive, student-centered principles.This knowledge will allow her to create a welcoming and engaging classroom environment that supports every learner. Her passion for education, science, and student growth drives her work as she transitions from researcher to early childhood educator.

Ms. Morgan, originally from Franklin County, is dedicated to serving her local community. After graduating from Appalachian State University in 2024 with a degree in Elementary Education, she returned to Louisburg to teach at the elementary level. She is excited to spend many years to come at LES :)
